This is the reconstruction of a two-storey building of seven residential apartments first built in 1968.
The building, after the reconstruction consists of five residential apartments, one on each floor and three on the ground floor.
The goal of the reconstruction was the conversion of apartments to each floor in a flat for a 3-member family and the conversion of the building shell in order to satisfy the new requirements in respect of the residential interior public space and the street.
To be able to manage this relationship, a second skin as a mask was designed to the building. This mask, that has shading function, was also designed to provide sense of security and privacy to the residences of the ground floor that face to the street and to the balconies of the upper floors that are very close to the street toο.
The morphological identity of the building was found on the limits of the confrontational relationship between public and private as well as traditional and contemporary.
