COMPETITION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF IOANNINA

Architectural study of preliminary designs for the construction of the new Municipal Hall of the Municipality of Ioannina, on a plot of 5,990 square meters, in the center of the city of Ioannina.

The main intention for the building was to be completely “public” and permeable for the free and continuous access of citizens to it, and the formation of individual volumes, that will create interesting qualities in the spaces in between.

At the same time, to meet the safety and seamlessness rules required by a public building of this type of use.

Thus, the Town Hall is developed around a central square with access from the surrounding streets.

The new buildings maintain the visual continuity of the urban fronts, while the interiors are a continuation of the public spaces of the city.
